What to Ask Your Wedding Venue During COVID

Times have certainly changed! Therefore, it’s important to be asking the right questions during the wedding planning process. We have compiled a list of questions to ask your venue when it comes to COVID-19 and how they are handling it.

  • What is your postponement policy?

  • If we were to postpone our wedding, are there any fees associated with doing so?

  • How far in advance do you recommend we make the call for postponing our wedding or not?

  • What is your cancellation policy if we decide not to postpone?

  • Do you offer any elopement or intimate ceremony packages for current clients?

  • How many guests can you accommodate with the current local guidelines and restrictions?

  • How many guests do you allow per table?

  • Do you offer any live streaming options? If not, do you have any vendor recommendations that offer this service?

  • How do you ensure sanitization is happening?

  • What safety measures do you have in place? (i.e. health screening upon entering, temperature check, etc.)

  • Do you have a mask requirement for guests and employees?

  • Do you have any examples layouts that encourage social distancing for a smaller guest count?

  • How are you encouraging social distancing?

  • Do you allow dancing?

  • If food and/or beverage is provided through the venue:

    • How is food and beverage being handled?

    • If we end up with a much smaller guest count, are you able to lower the food & beverage minimum?

    • Is there still an option for a buffet or dessert table? If not, what recommendations do you have?

We hope that these questions will help answer any questions you may have for your venue as well as inspire more questions you may have. Keep in mind that the state guidelines and restrictions are changing by the month so please be patient with your venue (and other vendors!) during these uncertain times.
