Venue Spotlight: A'BULAE

There are tons of wedding and event venues in the Twin Cities, but one of our favorites is A’BULAE, located in downtown St. Paul. We recently planned and coordinated a few weddings there this past year and had a great experience working with the A’BULAE team! We reached out to Karen Scher, Site Director at A’BULAE, to learn more.
A'BULAE is a SoHo-style event site that provides unparalleled views of the city from floor-to-ceiling windows. The space is a classic international building with a distinct euro-contemporary style that incorporates Italian design. The intimate yet dramatic modular space combines rich and raw design elements that offer contrast and are reflective of Manhattan's SoHo environment. It's the only true SoHo loft-style event space in Minnesota (source: www.abulae.com)
What about A'BULAE would you like to highlight to couples? We are a “one-stop-shop”—everything you need to get married is here (except food and beverage!)
How do you help a couple create their perfect wedding? We start early in our relationship with our couples; our tours are extensive and informative. Once booked, we have a planning kick off meeting right away to get to know the couple and create what they’d like to have their day be—we also offer a lot of continued support and access—I like to say to them “we don’t take your money and say see you on your wedding day"—we encourage our couples to come to the venue often, keep things fresh in their minds, show it off to their friends and family, see it at night, or during the season that their wedding will be.
What are some of the current trends you're seeing with weddings? Seeing a lot of “less is more”. Simple greens, no elaborate table numbers/stands
What other events, besides weddings, does A'BULAE host? Today we have the Transportation Alliance 125th Anniversary meeting! Corporate sales meetings, holiday parties, product launches, award ceremonies.
What are some unique amenities and offerings A'BULAE has to offer? Digital Coordination—our on site coordinator also works with the couples months before their day to create audio and visual elements—custom monograms, GOBO’s, etc.
