There are tons of awesome and unique venues in the Twin Cities, but one of our favorites is The Hutton House located in Medicine Lake, Minnesota (just minutes from downtown Minneapolis). While we’ve worked a couple of weddings there (and have more to look forward to in 2020!), we figured now was a great time to find out more about what makes their venue just so awesome. What about the Hutton House would you like to highlight to couples?
The Hutton House was built to accommodate the entire bridal experience. Guests feel pampered as they prepare for their special day in our luxurious bride and groom suites, located upstairs in a private area of the house. Host everything from your ceremony in our beautiful outdoor courtyard, to cocktail hour in our Fireside Room, and a full dinner and reception in our Lakeside Room.

Our soaring ceilings and warm, white backdrop allows each couple the ability to customize the space to highlight their unique theme or color palette.

We offer ample onsite parking and are centrally located in a western Minneapolis suburb. Our gorgeous outdoor courtyard creates the perfect, private oasis for you and your guests. Lined with a beautiful bluestone patio and landscaping, the turf courtyard is green all year long. Along with a fire pit and outdoor speakers, the courtyard is available for year-round use, even in those Minnesota winter months.

How do you help a couple create their perfect wedding?
It is our mission to create a seamless and memorable experience for our couples. From a smooth planning process, all the way up to a beautiful wedding day! We pride ourselves on being a partner in the planning process, offering advice and assistance every step of the way. We help couples with building their floor plans, bar services and beverage menu planning, coordinating timeline details, and more. Nothing makes us happier than hearing we were able to take some of the stress off of your plate, so that you could focus on fully enjoying the best day ever!

What are the current trends you've seen with weddings?
One of the most stunning features of The Hutton House is its classic, timeless design. Our white walls create a simple and elegant backdrop that stands beautifully on its own or can be completely customized to compliment any décor or color palette.

Customization! We love helping our clients highlight elements of their unique celebration through special details such as custom decals on our mirrors and mobile bars, unique hanging installations, signature sips, or customized take-aways for guests.
Indoor/outdoor activities. We find our clients truly appreciate our outdoor courtyard space, taking advantage of those gorgeous summer and fall days when we get them, and even embracing the winter weather with use of our mobile bar, yard games, firepit and more in the courtyard. Our walls of sliding glass doors create a seamless flow from our indoor to outdoor space for the perfect cocktail hour entertainment or a special first-dance backdrop.
Photo opportunity/backdrops. Our white brick fireplace makes the perfect statement piece for a gorgeous photo backdrop. Clients have customized our fireplace mantle with floral arrangements, candlelight displays, and even custom monograms.

What other events, besides weddings, does the Hutton House host?
We host a variety of corporate and non-profit meetings, programs and social receptions year-round. Our Lakeside Room is the largest space available at The Hutton House, with room to accommodate up to 300 guests depending on the layout of your program and activities. The Fireside Room, located adjacent to our Lakeside Room, is a comfortable space for mid-sized events of 50 to 75 guests. Both spaces can be transformed into a unique lounge setting for a happy hour or networking reception, arranged with theater-style seating perfect for a panel discussion, or set with round tables for an engaging workshop or formal dinner. The versatility of our space makes it a the perfect option for everything from corporate holiday parties to non-profit fundraising galas, and more!

Our upstairs suites are the perfect option for groups of 8 to 10. If you're looking for a casual lounge setting for your team brainstorming session, or a formal conference meeting setup featuring a banquet table and chairs, we are able to arrange a comfortable and private space that meets your event needs.

Whether it’s a corporate retreat or family reunion, we love hosting gatherings in our outdoor courtyard space. With fun accessories like cafe lighting, yard games, and a mobile bar, we love to see our corporate clients use our courtyard for a refreshing take on team building or ice breaker activities.
