Vendor Spotlight: Rotella Photography
We met Mandy of Rotella Photography last year and never looked back! Shortly after our first meeting, we teamed up to put on a preppy & plaid styled shoot at The Hutton House that was recently featured in the spring/summer 2019 issue of Minnesota Bride magazine. We still keep in touch to this day and she comes highly preferred by us if youβre still searching for your dream wedding photographer!
Tell us about your business.
We are a husband and wife photography duo based in the Minneapolis metro area, and available worldwide. The best way to describe our business and photography style is colorful, casual and fun!
What do you love most about being a wedding photographer?
More than anything, we love meeting new people and making new friends. We like to have fun at our sessions and often end up great friends with our clients.
What led you to the wedding industry, specifically?
First of all...weddings are amazing. Why wouldn't we want to help celebrate the happiest day in our clients' lives!? Also, when we got married nearly a decade ago, we had a hard time finding a photographer we liked and then had a less-than-ideal experience with that photographer. That prompted us to create an experience for our couples that we wish we would have had.
What are your favorite wedding trends right now?
Not going to lie, we love the donut bar trend - how could you not!? The cake cutting is something we love and cherish and we have noticed our couples tend to do a small couples' cake to cut for pictures and then have cupcakes or donuts available for guests to easily grab at their leisure. We think it's a fun idea, still gets the tradition into the day, and gives your guests something to do!
Tell us about your most memorable and fun wedding/event.
Oh man! Just one!? I honestly don't think we could pick just one. We love when our couples' guests get really into their wedding day, whether it's on the dance floor or during dinner (we once had a bunch of guests in on a flashmob rendition of "Can you feel the love tonight," which was really fun)! The more interactive and invested your guests are, the more fun pictures you will end up with from your day!
What makes you unique from other wedding photographers?
We love getting to know our clients before their day. We see our clients multiple times before their wedding day which makes it feel like friends are showing up to take pictures of you, not strangers. We also like to approach the wedding day however our couple's need us to. Some couples want a TON of direction (tilt your head this way, move your foot/hand/hair that way), and some couples want us to get more candid, in-the-moment images and we know exactly how to do that as well. Last but not least, we are known for our colorful images. While the trend in the industry changes with time, we like to capture your day exactly as it was and how you remember it - in real color :)
Can you tell us about your packages and price point?
We like to keep things easy and simple. We only have one package that starts at $3200 and includes two photographers, an engagement session, 8 hours of wedding day photography coverage and the digital images from your day. We also offer wedding albums, wall art and all the other fun stuff that you can add on to your package if you choose!
Tell us one thing we might now know about you otherwise.
Our entire wedding ceremony was set to acoustic Beatles songs!
