Real Wedding: Andrea & Dakota

This week we're highlighting Andrea & Dakota's wedding that took place at The Church of the Epiphany-Coon Rapids and Rush Creek Golf Club in Maple Grove. Andrea came to us in 2017 in search of a day of coordinator for her spring wedding. Being it was in April, as us Minnesotans know, anything is possible when speaking about the weather. But who knew it would snow on their wedding day... in April... in Minnesota. But wait -- that's not it! Not only was it snowing, the state of Minnesota was having blizzard conditions. YES, that means 15+ inches of snow, high winds and cold weather. Sounds like January, right?!

Despite the snow storm, that wasn't stopping anyone from witnessing Andrea & Dakota say "I DO"! There was one hiccup where the wedding party bus actually got stuck out in the snowstorm during the cocktail hour and transition from getting from the church to the reception. Andrea's Maid of Honor called me and said, "Sooo... our wedding party bus is stuck... What is plan B!?" That is when I sprung into action as any good day of coordinator would do! I let the vendors at the reception know about this and we made the executive decision to push dinner back about a half hour (with plenty of notice, of course), and I helped organize a few vehicles to be sent out and pick up the stranded wedding party one-by-one and get them to the reception. About a half hour later, everyone started to trickle in and the party resumed! I also can't thank the vendors enough for how amazing of a team we made that day. We all put our heads together to provide the best possible outcome for Andrea, Dakota, and their family & friends. The best part of all -- Andrea & Dakota we're smiling from ear to ear all day long! They really made the best out of this given situation and it is definitely a wedding I will remember for years to come. Andrea & Dakota -- CONGRATULATIONS! Wishing you many years of love, laughter & happiness.

"If it weren’t for Melody and her team (Maggie AND Tyler!), I know our wedding day would not have gone as well as it did. Her team did all of the small things that you may not think about (transporting items, setup and breakdown of both ceremony and reception, etc), and even MORE since we had a blizzard. When the bridal party bus got stuck in a ditch, my maid of honor turned to me and said, “I don’t know what to do,” and without skipping a beat I said “call Melody!” Melody organized a convoy of vehicles to pick us up at the bar and bring us to the reception, and kept all of the vendors in the know of where we were so we didn’t have to. Once we all got there, she worked with all of the vendors to adjust our ever-changing schedule, and made sure every detail was accounted for. My wedding day is true testament that even if you plan for worst case scenario, it can ALWAYS get worse. I hired her for peace of mind, and boy did she deliver! If I could give her 10/5 stars, I would!" - Andrea & Dakota
