We came across Tarah while working a wedding at The Nicollet Island Inn in Minneapolis earlier this year. Not only was she wonderful to work with, but she is one of the sweetest people ever! We were really impressed with her work so we decided to do a little Q&A with her and find out more about her!
Tell us about your business.
I am a natural light love story photographer based in Southern Minnesota, but always available for travel! I photograph the love of adventurous couples that think outside the box, and love a little wind in their hair! I have been fortunate enough to photographer sweet couples in places like Mexico, Arizona, Seattle, and more! I love my "job", the place it takes me, and the people it allows me to meet!
What do you love most about being a wedding photographer?
I think my favorite part about what I do is simply capturing the love two people share. It doesn't matter if it is in a little white church or the top of a mountain, they all have such beautifully unique stories, and it makes my heart overflow.
What led you to the wedding industry, specifically?
I was only 18 when I started my own business, and at that point I did a lot more seniors than I did weddings. I slowly began booking more and more weddings and fell in love! Now that I am in the same stage of life as them, I see even more now the importance of capturing their day as it happens and giving them the best experience I can possibly give!
What are your favorite wedding trends right now?
I have a very bohemian and adventurous style, so anything that is non-traditional is my jam! I love chasing sunsets in the desert with a barefoot bride, trudging through the snow near the mountains to find those magnificently tall trees, or even just adventuring through a city to find all the best urban backdrops! Things are always changing and that excites me!
Tell us about your most memorable and fun wedding/event.
I shot a wedding in Puerto Vallarta, Mexico in 2016 and it was everything I dreamed it would be! My fiancé and I took a week long vacation while we were down there and I think I miss those sunsets every single day!
What makes you unique from other wedding photographers?
I think my personality plays a huge roll here. I am very outgoing, and will only ever be sweet to anyone who crossed my path. I love to serve others and make people laugh so that is how I run my business. When I am with clients I make sure that we are always having fun!
Can you tell us about your packages and price point?
My average couple invests around $3,500 (8-10 hours of coverage) for their wedding experience!
Tell us one thing we might not otherwise know about you.
I have a family of 9! I think this comes as a surprise to almost everyone I meet, haha! I have 4 sisters and 2 brothers and I LOVE IT!
