This week we're highlighting Brianna & Brady's wedding that took place on Lighthouse Island-Lake Minnetonka on Saturday, June 23, 2018. Brianna came to us after being referred by one of our other brides, Casey, who got married on July 14, 2018 and was a bridesmaid in Brianna's wedding! During our initial consultation, she mention she was getting married on an island which would require some logistics such as how the vendors and guests would get there, timing of events, etc. We were SO up for the challenge.

Once Brianna & Brady's day of coordination package began (one month prior to their wedding day), we hopped on a pontoon on Lake Minnetonka and toured the venue site for ourselves. It was a beautiful, warm and sunny Minnesota day and we could only hope the weather would be like this on their wedding day, too! The island itself is currently run by the Minnesota Yacht Club in which there is a small building onsite equipped with a small kitchen, restrooms and lounge area. The rest of the island is outdoors in which Brianna & Brady would be renting a rent from Apres for the reception area. At this final meeting, we talked through some of the logistics and challenges of getting guests from point A (shore) to point B (the island), but in the end, we knew it would all work out!

Fast forward to their wedding day. We're not kidding you when we say it literally rained EVERY SINGLE SATURDAY IN JUNE... except for JUNE 23RD! Being their wedding venue was 99% outdoors, we watched the weather by the minute to ensure it didn't rain. AND IT DIDN'T! It was the perfect summer day in Minnesota -- mid 70's and lots and lots of sunshine. Perfect for a day on the lake! Our team arrived onsite a few hours before the ceremony to setup and make sure everything was good to go before guests arrived later in the afternoon. Guests were pontooned over little by little during the afternoon until eventually all 225 guests were onsite. The ceremony site was gorgeous with the perfect backdrop -- Lake Minnetonka. During the cocktail hour, the wedding party ventured offsite in style. Yeah, they hopped on a boat and ventured into the City of Excelsior to grab some beers and take some photos (how fun is that?!). Once they arrived back to the island, the grand entrance kicked off the party followed by a delicious buffet dinner provided by Blanchard Catering. And what a fun-filled evening it was!
