Vendor Spotlight: Enlighten Films
A few months ago I was introduced to Mike, a wedding videographer, through a mutual friend. I'm all for meeting new people, especially those who are in the wedding and event industry. Networking is key and it really takes a team of rock star vendors to pull off an amazing wedding or corporate event. Mike sent over a few sample videos from some of the weddings he did and I was instantly hooked -- I had to find out more!
Tell us about your business.
Enlighten Films is a small boutique film company based in Minnesota focused on creating beautiful and emotionally raw films.
What do you love most about being a wedding videographer?
Weddings create so many unique opportunities to capture raw human emotion. It truly is a humbling experience to get to be apart of one of the biggest days of two peoples lives and to capture those moments that are meant to be replayed for a lifetime.
What led you to the wedding industry, specifically?
My dad, a professional photographer, has shot weddings for 35 years. So, quite literally, I've been apart of this industry my whole life. Prospective client meetings, portfolio showings, scoutings, assisting...I've been apart and seen the process my entire life. Naturally, I'm drawn to it; it's second nature.
Tell us about your most memorable and fun wedding/event.
I had to spend a week in Maui shooting out a very intense week of planned wedding events from a day trip sailing to Lanai to a grooms dinner in the West Maui Mountains. Life was really hard.
